Effective June 1, 2013
On any day when a funeral Mass will be held at St. John Church, the morning Mass will be cancelled. Parishioners will be notified via email. A posting will be placed on the parish website and also on our facebook page. We would really like for parishioners to join us for all funeral Masses held here at St. John. The support of the parish is very important to families who have lost a loved one. Please join us for any funeral Mass being held here. We want our parishioners to always feel the invitation to love and support one another!
UPDATE - We are trying to get our debt paid off by June 30th! Can you help?
To those who have already given, THANK YOU!
May 2013
Members of the St. John Parish Community,
“Debt-Free!” Doesn’t that sound wonderful? As a parish, we are so close to being able to say that we are debt-free. Our building loan through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati began at $2,200,000 in 1999, when we built our new church. At the end of March 2013, we owed $135,000 on our building debt. We have worked long and hard to pay this loan, and we are SO close to reaching our goal. With your help, we can reach it sooner.
Pastoral Council Election – Congratulations to the newest members of our Pastoral Council: Annemarie Steinbauer (re-elected), Ken Krusling (re-elected), Donna Denning, Mary Jo Cini, Debbie Whitis and Leslie Nelson. Keep all members of our Pastoral Council in your prayers as they serve our parish community!
Seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching
The Church's social teaching is a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. Modern Catholic social teaching has been articulated through a tradition of papal, conciliar, and episcopal documents. The depth and richness of this tradition can be understood best through a direct reading of these documents. In these brief reflections, we highlight several of the key themes that are at the heart of our Catholic social tradition.
