Mark Burger, Fr. Don West and Mary Ann Lampe (scribe).   Preliminaries:  The Council Meeting opened with the Pastoral Council prayer at 7:00 pm.  The reflection was led by Rose Braun. Agenda Items: 1)  Approval of minutes from December – all   The minutes were approved and seconded as written. 2)  Pastoral Council Membership – all    Congratulations to Joan Seibenick, she has taken a position with the church.  With this change, Joan will be unable to fulfill her term on council.  In her new role as Communication Coordinator, she will be our contact about our website.  Also, Barb Grothjan has resigned due to scheduling difficulties.  John Mueller will fulfill a term until June 2012, Doug Davis has accepted a term until June 2011.  We still have one open term that ends June 2011.  Rose is contacting candidates from our most recent election.  Fr. Mark – if cannot find someone to fill these terms at this time, we can leave it open until next election. 3)  February Retreat Details – all  John Mueller offered the community center at the Mueller – Parker Funeral Home at 6791 Tylersville Road for our February 6 retreat.  We will gather at 8:30 am; the day will end with a Mass by Fr. Mark.  Debbie will coordinate the food; watch your email for details.  E-mail any suggestions to Debbie.  Soup and salads like last year would be good.  Please advise Debbie of any food allergies.  John will provide the coffee.   Our next bread delivery is scheduled for January 9, based upon the weather we may need to push this out until January 16.  There are 34 new families to welcome, volunteers are needed to help with the deliveries. Rose – has anyone heard anything from parishioners about the removal of the prayer of renewal at the beginning of Mass?  Only Debbie.  Fr. Mark – there has not been any significant concerns raised to him. 4)  Fr. Mark’s Comments   We, as a group, need to assist in the introduction of the Mass changes that are coming in 2011 for our parish.  On January 21 in the pavilion the Worship Office will have a meeting explaining the changes - anyone may attend.  It will begin the first Sunday in Advent, 2011.  Are we going to introduce this at Mass?  Jane - we could explain that the changes are a more direct translation from Latin.  Fr. Mark – there are some changes in the creed; and the confiteor is back to its original format.  The meeting on the 21st is only an introduction; there will be more meetings on this important topic.  On April 15th and 16th, the Council of Bishops will have a meeting for the priests. For this group (Pastoral Council) there will be a lot of parishioners with questions, and we need a plan established to effectively answer them.  We will have missals to help with the responses.  It will have a dramatic impact since only the Our Father is not changed.  Fr. Don - While it is a theological clarification, it is going to be a challenge for all of us.  Fr. Mark – After Vatican II, the bishops learned that they must prepare the members.  I think the diocese will provide a lot of material. There will be no meeting on Feb. 1. 5)  Adjournment and Closing Prayer of Thanksgiving – Rose Braun  Rose led the closing prayer and we adjourned at 7:50 pm. Next Meeting:  Monday, March 1, 2010                        - Reflection by Jane Mueninghoff                        - Prayer of Thanksgiving by Cindy Muron  Council Retreat Saturday, February 6 – all New Parishioner Bread Delivery Saturday, January 9
