December 2006 Web Commitee Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Debbie, Brett, Kathy, Dan, Steve

It was a great meeting to end the year. We look forward to starting off 2007 with a big change. We are targeting January 15th for the launch of the new drupal web site as www.stjohnwc.org. Here's what we discussed:

  • We need Brett to fix Daily Mass Schedule on the current web site. Steve could not find the file to change. The Drupal site has it correct.
  • We need to fix Fr. Linh's email address on the web site (Steve will do this).
  • We need to add a link to News and Notes to the menu. Dan and Debbie will need to start add new News and Notes to this "story".
  • We need to add a Readings link under the Mass Schedule block.
  • We reviewed the current status of the Drupal web site. We decided that the site is basically ready. 
  • We'd like Dan to try to upload the current calendar info to the Drupal web site. We'd also like him to get all of the Bulletins and Eagle's Wings uploaded to the Drupal web site. 
  • Stories are used for Meeting Minutes, From Father Mark, and News and Notes. Since Meeting Minutes are stories, link to the stories need to added to the home pages for sections that have minutes. It is not automatic. Need to add Pastoral Council Meetings to Minutes links.
  • We decided that people viewing the web site will not need accounts for now. We'll need to setup userids and permissions for people that will be able to edit portions of the web site.
  • Brett will add Google Analyticals to the new web site so we can track it's usage.
  • We need everyone to help determine what is missing from the new site. 
  • Debbie and Dan will write an article to introduce the new site that will be put into the bulletin starting the weekend of Dec 24th to run through Jan 15th.
  • Kathy will work on preparing training for the new Drupal site that she and Steve will provide to the Parish Staff at their February staff meeting.
  • The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 8 at 7:15 PM in Undercroft E. We'll invite Michael Dailey, Laura Hoppa, and Fr. Linh for training. Then we'll make sure that everything is ready for the new web site launch. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
