Attendees: Debbie, Cathy, Steve
We had some issues with getting setup that we finally resolved. We also spoke with Brett on the phone.
The main purpose of the meeting was to review the status of the new web site and determine what we need to do to fix any issues.
We found that Brett's email address was incorrect on the Web Committee email list. It needs to be updated.
Brett reported after the meeting that he has updated the site to Drupal 5.1 that hopefully will fix any problems. We did forward the earlier messages about problems with the web site.
There is an issue with From Father Mark's and From Father Linh's pages. The pages indicate that they are blogs - we'd like to remove the word blog from the titles of the pages. There also seems to be an old Father Mark's section and we could not find Father Linh's Bible Study page.
There has been no contact with the person who is supposed to work on the volunteer page for the Festival yet.
Jerry Barney would like to have a Java for Justice form to allow people to order coffee so that it can be at church the following weekend. Debbie and Dan will help.
Debbie reported that equipment is being order and should be installed by July to allow for digital recording of homilies and music at church. We'll need to figure out the best way to post audio files? (Is there a Drupal module for this?)
We discussed the need to understand where the "background" files are for the new web site and how those files can be accessed so that people can attempt to fix problems when they arise. The Drupal web site has forums that show people with similar problems and their proposed fixes. We'd also like to understand how the themes work and how they could be modified. We definitely need more documentation on maintaining the web site.
There was also discussion about the web site look. Some people in the office have expressed the desire to have a more "graphical" look to the web site. We'll have to explore this in the coming months.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 18th at 7:15PM in Undercroft E.
