Donations & Contributions
Get in on the action!
Summer is here, and many of us at St. John Parish are already planning and preparing for our parish festival. This year, the St. John Festival will be held on August 1, 2 & 3. The Basket Bonanza and Silent Auction Committees are two festival organizations extending an invitation to join in on the fun!
There are many ways YOU can help. After considering your gifts and blessings, please consider these opportunities for helping the parish with the festival:
• You may have a gift/item sitting around your home that you are willing to donate to the church. It can then be used as part of a Basket Bonanza basket or in the Silent Auction.
• Similarly, you may want to buy a gift to donate. Items of any monetary amount are willingly accepted – we can put any amount to good use!! Some gift ideas may include:
* Tickets for the Theater, Symphony, Broadway Series, sporting events or a concert
* Memberships for health clubs, the zoo, the aquarium or a swim club
* Gift certificates for restaurants, hotels, bookstores, video stores, theatres, golf courses, etc.
• You may wish to donate money to either festival booth. Because is takes a considerable amount of money to stage the Basket Bonanza and Silent Auction booths, a cash contribution would go a long way in covering those costs.
• A great and much appreciated way to get involved is to volunteer your time to help with these major booths. If you would like to help during the months and weeks prior to the festival, you may choose to help assemble and shrink wrap baskets, set up for the auction or solicit local businesses for their donations. Additionally, we need volunteers to work both booths during the festival.
• Many businesses appreciate the opportunity to advertise their names and logos before the crowds at our festival. If you work for or know of any company who is seeking this kind of exposure, you can help our festival by filling out the attached sheet. We will send letters to these interested businesses explaining the opportunities for sponsorship.
• Finally, you may be interested in donating an entire basket to the Basket Bonanza. Baskets are valued at $150 or more. If you (one individual or family) donate an entire basket to the Basket Bonanza, we will give you a reserved parking space for the entire festival weekend. (Several parish families did this last year – THANK YOU!!)
Thank you so much for previous contributions and service hours for St. John’s Family Festival. And, thank you in advance for your continued generosity. The festival gives us all an opportunity to come together as a community while having fun. Please join us in this cooperative effort in whatever way you feel called to do so.
If you are interesting in donating or helping out, please contact us!
Sincerely,
Barb Rojas (brojas@cinci.rr.com), Basket Bonanza
