First ReconciliationChildren in the second grade and up (depending on the child’s understanding of contrition) are invited to prepare for the celebration of Reconciliation. Parents are involved in the entire process of preparation, which would ideally include the whole family. Parents are invited to an informational meeting in September, including distribution of books and materials to use at home with their child/children. New this year, we will hold a Parent and Child Gathering in October to reflect and dialogue on Reconciliation. A mini-retreat in November welcomes all preparing students and parents to come together to practice and review the sacrament of Reconciliation. The children and their families celebrate the sacrament with the parish community at the Advent Reconciliation Services.
