Justice and Peace

Picture
Mission
The Justice and Peace of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community will be a witness of Christ's love and teachings by working for justice for all. The Commission will provide educational opportunities which build understanding of social justice issues and promote community action to eliminate inequities within our society. The commission will support the charitable works undertaken by parish groups.

Members meet monthly to discuss Catholic Social Teaching and its meaning for our parish.

We have a lot of fun, too! Contact Tony Klimek at tonyklimek3@gmail.com for more information or join the group.

Little Free Library Book Drive | February 20/21

The Little Free Library Book Drive at St. John is scheduled for the weekend of February 20/21. The Justice and Peace Committee will be collecting books to divvy amongst the three little free libraries in the West Chester community. This is a great time to start early on spring cleaning and give your new or lightly used books a happy home. Books will be collected in the church gathering space and will also be collected in PSR classes. If you would like to donate outside of these times, a trailer will be available in the church parking lot that weekend during Mass times. Below is a list of requested books.

Book Drive List
-preschool books
-early reader books (Dr. Seuss, Berenstain Bears, etc)
-chapter books (Goosebumps, Harry Potter, etc)
-books for ages 4 -12
-both Spanish and English books
