Mind Body Spirit is an opportunity to spend some time taking care of your heart, mind and body, so we are best able to do the work God has planned for us. In this 60-minute practice, you will be guided through a gentle yoga practice appropriate for all ages and experience. In fact, no experience is necessary at all! Just an interest or desire to practice some self care and some time in reflection.
Class Schedule 1st and 3rd Mondays each month 6:30-7:30pm in Favret Hall Please bring your own mat and arrive 5-10 minutes early so that practice can begin on time. Stay in Touch! There is a Facebook group called "Yoga for the Spirit" where updates and reminders are posted. It is a closed group - just request to join! If Facebook is not an option, please contact Michelle to be put on an email list for reminders. Gratitude Donations This class is 100% free! Meet Your Instructor
Michelle Deutsch has been practicing yoga for most of her adult life. "When I became an instructor a few years ago I immediately started seeing all of the parallels between my faith practice and my yoga practice. Both are journeys, neither require experience - just a willingness to be present. Both give opportunities for self reflection and development. Neither are a competition or a race. In both a faith practice and a yoga practice, we all start from somewhere, and sometimes we need to start over and go back to the basics. Both can be extremely fulfilling and the benefits carry over to all areas of life. I am thankful for the staff at St. John's to allow us to share a practice in such a beautiful space. Being in a room together (and even virtually via Zoom) is really meaningful and I think we all leave our mats ready for a beautiful week!"
