WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT IN-PERSON MASSES

Are you ready to join us at Mass at St. John? We are so happy to have you back! Here are a few things you'll need to know:
  • You must stay six feet apart from others unless you live in the same household.
  • Masks are required to be worn while in the church building.

The Mask Mandate in the state of Ohio is still in effect.  When you enter church, please have your mask in place.  The mask must be worn properly, covering both your nose and your mouth.  Your mask must remain in place during the entire Mass (except for the time you are placing the holy Eucharist into your mouth).  We also encourage you to use hand sanitizer as you enter and exit the church.  These rules are in place to help us protect each other. We know that the extended time that the mandate has been in place is making us all weary.  Think of this as part of your weekly offering to God.  We are happy to be together, so let’s keep each other safe!

The CDC recognizes that wearing masks may not be possible in every situation or for some people. In some situations, wearing a mask may exacerbate a physical or mental health condition, lead to a medical emergency, or introduce significant safety concerns. Adaptations and alternatives should be considered whenever possible to increase the feasibility of wearing a mask or to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading if it is not possible to wear one. Please visit this link and view ‘Feasibility and Adaptations’ for more information.
