share a lunch
May 27, 9 a.m. in the Pavilion
Please come join us! We will be preparing about 300 peanut butter sandwiches and packing lunches. (Lunches are distributed at Reach Out Lakota and St. Francis- Cincinnati.) In addition to the peanut butter, bread, fruit (apples, oranges, bananas, or cups), snacks, and juice boxes needed for the lunches, we welcome other non-perishable donations, too. The pantries are in particular need of healthy cereal, canned meat/ tuna, canned fruit, canned vegetables, shampoo, baby wipes, deodorant, and female sanitary items. (Since we do not have a refrigerator, please refrain from donating natural peanut butter or highly perishable fruit.) Donations can be dropped off during our meeting time or in advance at the parish office. Thanks again for your support! Please contact Diane Claytor at 779-6895 with questions.

“Laudato Si” Community”
The Cincinnati Catholic Archdiocese has created a program to recognize Catholic parishes and institutions that live out Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ message of caring for God’s creation. The St. John Justice and Peace Commission is working to obtain that recognition for our parish. The program requires: 1) parish facilities to have achieved a Green Facility Standard, and 2) ten percent of households to complete a Household Green Assessment to encourage awareness and give families new ideas to care for creation. The facilities at St. John have been upgraded to achieve the required energy efficiency standard. We are now asking parish households to go online and take the Household Green Assessment survey here.

the hidden messiah: reflections on mark's gospel
Fr. Don has published his second book! In The Hidden Messiah, Fr. Don continues to share his passion and heart for scripture as he takes the reader on a journey into Mark’s Gospel. Fr. Don hopes that these gospel reflections will help people begin to understand what Jesus offers us and to accept the challenge to be the people Christ calls us to be, people who will share God's love with others.
You can also buy it on Amazon today, or visit our office to pick up a copy for $10. We also have a few copies left of his first book, Gathered In My Name.
early childhood program
If your children have participated in St John’s Early Childhood Program, you already know how much they enjoy coming each Sunday during the 9:30 am Mass to learn about God's love for them and our world. If your children have never participated and you're considering signing up for the first time, do it! Your kids will love it! Registration information above. Contact Jodi Krusling at email@example.com for more information.
We all recognize the need for lifelong, ongoing faith formation. Let’s keep our young parishioners connected with God, their parish, and their peers through PSR classes. Many options available.
