April 24, 7 p.m. Mass in Chapel
Jesus showed great concern for the bodily and spiritual welfare of the sick and commanded his disciples to do likewise. This is clear from the gospels and especially from the existence of the sacrament of anointing. As Jesus’ disciples, we gather in a special celebration, the Healing Mass, to help people find healing in whatever areas they may require it. The celebration of the Healing Mass consists especially in the laying on of hands by our pastor, Fr. Don, the offering of the prayer of faithful, and the anointing of the sick with oil made holy by God’s blessing. This sacrament gives the grace of the Holy Spirit to those who are sick: by this grace the whole person is helped, sustained by trust in God, and strengthened against his or her anxiety.
Saturday, April 28, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Pavilion
Family (birth, adoptive, church, work etc.) can be a great source of joy but can also be a source of pain. These wounds, even the ones we’ve tried to bury, can have a big effect on all aspects of our lives. You are invited to join Ron Meyer and Nilda Goheen as they facilitate the latest in their Here I Am series where you will discover a tool that will help expose the wounds and how to heal those wounds so that you can experience the peace that comes from healthier relationships.
Join us on April 28 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Pavilion at St. John Church. Space is limited, so contact Ron at 376-1277 or email@example.com to reserve your spot or to get more information.

“Laudato Si” Community”
The Cincinnati Catholic Archdiocese has created a program to recognize Catholic parishes and institutions that live out Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ message of caring for God’s creation. The St. John Justice and Peace Commission is working to obtain that recognition for our parish. The program requires: 1) parish facilities to have achieved a Green Facility Standard, and 2) ten percent of households to complete a Household Green Assessment to encourage awareness and give families new ideas to care for creation. The facilities at St. John have been upgraded to achieve the required energy efficiency standard. We are now asking parish households to go online and take the Household Green Assessment survey here.

Fr. Don has published his second book! In The Hidden Messiah, Fr. Don continues to share his passion and heart for scripture as he takes the reader on a journey into Mark’s Gospel. Fr. Don hopes that these gospel reflections will help people begin to understand what Jesus offers us and to accept the challenge to be the people Christ calls us to be, people who will share God's love with others.
